Chickenmaven what do you think?

I think what comes around goes around. This turkey will get his! I am not sure that I am the one who needs to stick it to him... I don't know how much of my own energy I can invest in the actions of a deranged toy vendor.

I agree with some of you who have written that I got off easy - a $10 lesson.
I HAVE filed a BBB complaint and protested with my cc. Last night, I made DH take me out to dinner. I drank wine with my meal & joked about sending Mr. RetroToy a box of poo. My OWN poo! That took the edge off my distress.

I am just a really nice lady, so this entire thing was a big SLAP in the face!

Contact your local post office and ask about filing mail fraud charges and how to get the form. If the post office investigates and finds that they did, indeed, commit mail fraud (by charging you the whole amount but not sending the whole order and refusing to do a partial refund or send the rest) they can refuse to provide mail services to that company. This works. It's going to be a lot harder for him to run that business if noone can mail him anything and he can't mail anything out to customers and has to use FedEx/UPS only. Good luck!

Ebay will NOT give out home phone numbers.

It is easy for anyone with your name and address to look it up and get it themselves. Ebay might be a lot of things, but they do not do that.

From the way it sounds the owner is also the customer service. Taking it that way wont do a thing.
Contact your bank. Get your money back through them. Warn as many people as you can.
In all truth and honesty. That will be all you can do. There are millions more people out there that will continue to shop with the guy and get burned. Research is the best way to go. And the cheapest is not always the best

Ebay WILL give out home numbers... absolutely they will and DO if you file a dispute, yep yep and YEP! When we sold and had non-paying bidders, and requested their information for nonpayment, we received their information and they received OURS. Its all located (or used to be) under "Contact Seller / Buyer" in the dispute area - but you can only do this if you are disputing the item or must contact via other methods.

So yes, ebay does give this information out. Its the information you registered with. If you provided your home address and home phone number - thats what is provided to the buyer/seller when there is a dispute filed; if you provided a cell phone number, then that is whats given. Whatever you provided, it is given - and it is provided to both parties, respectively.

This is one of the main reasons I usually shop/buy LOCAL.

People like this give people like me who sells on eBay (100% positive feedback) or online a bad name.

Karma will prevail!! I believe this with my whole being!!

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience.

Yes, Ebay will. Like HennysMom said - if you have a transaction with someone there will be an option to "request contact information." If you use that option, it gives your registered contact information to the other party and it gives their contact information to you. I've used it several times when people wanted to pick up an Ebay item I was selling but forgot to put their phone number in the email/Paypal payment notes.

When something like this happens, I will fume awhile then think what needs to be done to prevent another innocent person being scammed. As long as no one complains, (either they don't have the time or think someone else will file a complaint) the guy is going to make $$$$$ and continue to do so until stopped. JMO

After DH read the response I got from the email I sent them, he decided to send his own. He seems to have a way with words that I don't. He sent this Saturday. We expected to get a very nasty one in return, surprisingly we haven't heard a thing!

Here is a copy of what he sent...

We have just finished reviewing some very disturbing information about your business practices. You need to understand that not all of the people you are dealing with are idiots. We understand that you may not be concerned about your BBB rating or the possibility of losing a few dollars because of your bad reputation. We also realize that web based business is different than "brick and mortar", but do you realize how much easier it is to get a web based business shut down? You have set forth your intelligence level with your inaccurate statements about other businesses that you are somehow more successful than. Also, what is your standing with the IRS? Just curious, because thousands of people know your name and are contacting them with your information just to make sure they have record of your 300% yearly profit increases. Also you state that you have been in business for over 20 years, but there is no record of you before 99. Have you heard of hackers? What if you upset a very intelligent one? How long do you think it would take them to destroy your website? Let's be serious here, we all know you are a one man show operating out of your garage. How hard can it really be to operate a drop ship business without upsetting your customers? You need to spend more time addressing your shipment problems and less time replying to complaints with juvenile language and unfounded statistics.
