Indeed. He can shoot to kill, but nothing in the local ordinances authorizes shooting to inflict pain. The owners of the dogs would almost certainly file a lawsuit if he did that.

if he has a paper trail with the police, posted and it continues especially the dogs getting to his animals he has every right under trespass laws OR he could sue the owners for damages and distress.. they will probly get rid of the dogs

You can see the problem where many people do not take into consideration specific details of a given conflict. Each conflict is different owing to legal situation, individuals involved, and prior history.

One of our members went silent after he made a post that he shot a dog for killing his chickens and got arrested for cruelty.The owners were also suing him for their dogs medical bill's. He was in shock that he was charged with such a serious charge. He said he thought he killed the dog but it was still alive after its owners arrived. I don't know if it died later or if he was found guilty because he never made another post.

So far you have reiterated about 30 pages of discussion and then gotten mad when we said we already knew (and would rather not implement) that.

Thats your assumption, shouldnt assume what you dont know as a fact. Who's mad? LOL and this already knew?? I had a few comments that stuff was overlooked on their behalf, sorry to break the news but youre wrong... again. Nothing to be mad or upset about or is there? Just trying to be helpful and a bit of a jokester I am, but not knowing the laws/ordinances of jurisdictions dont help anyone else Bottom line is Fence it or deal with it another way and obviously cant afford to fence it so now figuring out how to deal with it which will ultimately come down to what they can and cant do legally.
