Yep! That stuff.
Might even check your kitchen cabinets first. :D I use it under my drinking glasses. You can wash in hot water, even a drop of Dawn or bleach, rinse thoroughly, and dry as much as possible.

I’ll have a look!! Upon recommendation I’ll be making a safety hole in 5 later too so if I find any by then I’ll change it right away.

My humidity is currently at 45 and I’m scared to try to alter it right now cuz I have to go pet sitting later so I won’t be around to check every hour :(
Is that enough or will it hurt them?

Ditto on waiting for humidity, and temps, to stabilize after any change.
I think it would be safe to crank the room humidity up to say 70% to buffer opening the bator. Tho humidity is different at different temps....so it can be hard to compare.

I’ve got the humidifier running on max so it’s probably 50, which is more than the bator at the moment cuz it’s only at 45 and has been since last night. I’m so scared to try to turn it up though because I have to leave to pet sit later and won’t be around to check every hour :(

Okay I’ll do it when I go check on them again later! It won’t dry out the membrane right? Is there a preferred location? Air cell I’m assuming, but any specific angle of the air cell?
Very, very top and center. Well away from the edges. Be very, very careful and don't use too much pressure.

Higher is better than lower, especially after shell is broken.

I agree, higher is better than too low. As long as you don’t get condensation and dripping, it should be fine.

If it makes you feel better, post some pics of different angles of the egg you want to make a hole in, and we can point where to make it. Hopefully it will pip itself before you get back home. :fl

I’m thinking I’ll try to put the sponge back in but place it on a bowl so it doesn’t soak the paper towels, cuz I have nothing to replace those with at the moment. I’ll be back later tonight for a check. There’s an issue with the people’s passport who’s dogs I’m taking care of so they might end up not going today and I’ll have to come home but otherwise I’ll come home twice a day to check on the eggs, maybe more if they’re starting to hatch but I know I can’t help till later so I’ll try to contain myself lol.

Will take some pics for sure! I’m so nervous about starting to poke into the shell, I don’t wanna do anything wrong! But I also don’t want the poor baby to be stuck and die... ugh so hard!

@WVduckchick I think 5 is dead :( :( :(

There’s fluid in there that has clearly broken into the air cell and it moves when I shift the egg around :(
I took a video that I’m trying to upload but here are some pics. I think that might have been the movement I thought I saw...
