Hello, I have a female pekin duck. One of her eyes is sealed shut and she won't open it. There's no signs of it being irritated, besides a little blob of puss that I gently removed earlier. I don't know what happened to her, maybe something got into her eye? Please help me out and figure out what this is! She's also keeping to herself and being real quiet. She's not as loud/active as she normally is. Here's a picture:

I happened to see a similar post awhile back where @Miss Lydia commented with some advise. You might try her suggestions. Here’s the thread with her response:

There is a product called Terramycin eye ointment some feed stores will have it and you can also order on line I would get a look at your ducks eye as soon as possible in case of infection and if you wiped pus very well could be. If the eye is sealed use a soft wash cloth dipped in salt water ring out so it’s not soaking wet but you want it wet enough it softens the eye lids so you can eventually get the eye open. If you can post a pic after eye is open.
