#3 hatched and soon, I'll take those two and put them with the baby in the brooder. So many are pipped and now are being rolled around a bit, so can't say for certain how many. Can't see pips on the two Orps yet, but hey, they're Orps and usually fashionably late.

Hi Cynthia, I know this has probably been asked a bunch of times but I am wondering how you manage to not have the other eggs shrink wrap if you open the incubator during hatch.
If I do it even for a moment, nothing can get out after that. I have tried spraying with warm water in the bator but I never have any luck.
We are very dry here but I still don't understand how some manage to sneak them out and others can't.

Hmmm maybe if I took the whole incubator into a steamy bathroom...really I wonder if that would work?

I don't open the bator unless the humidity is up into the mid-70's, usually. And DH and I work as a team so we can snatch a baby out in a couple seconds. It's way more humid here in GA than where you are, though at the moment, it's about 40% in the air. Will be juicier as Hurricane Ida's rain makes it here tonight.

BTW, #4 just hatched.
