First Hatch-a-long! November 2021!

November 12th -

Day 9! Today I made a small egg candling box I got from an idea another member (I think it was CoopDad ) who said use a cardboard box with a little hole to block the light from the incubator plastic. I took it the next level and with a little duct tape and hot glue made it a box that helps block out the light and painted it a matte blue to give my phone a contrasting background to get a better focus. I think it worked well! I'm a little proud.

As for the chick's - can't really see anything. If I didn't know better I'd think silkie A is a day ahead of everyone. Seems to be most active and fuller/larger. Ironically bigger than even the brahma 3.

November 13th-

Day 10 candeling and I can't see much anymore. I did get a few videos of movement but it's wild how dark it's gotten inside the eggs!

November 14th-

Day 11! Full and active! They're going crazy! I can see beak shadows and feet shadows!

November 14th-

Day 12!! Candeling shows lots of dark shadows that dance around. When they sit there and kick away I can see their feet and head etc easily! So cool!

Sorry I haven't been updating. My best friend died this week unexpectedly, leaving behind her three young sons and husband. We have all been grieving pretty hard. I did have a video from day 14 I wanted to share. You can see a foot kicking around, toes and all.
