First time hatching ducklings need help!

I hatched out three baby wood ducks and they are about two days old. They are all running around except two of them have either the umbilical cord or dried blood covering their vent. I'm not sure what to do and I don't want to lose them! Please help

Better to worry than blow off something that could be a major issue... not being able to poop would be very, very bad...

They are gorgeous! Glad they are ok. That bit left should dry up and fall off soon.

Don't beat yourself up though, they're difficult to get to thrive in captivity...

Incubated ducklings do bond more to the face than anything, after all you kept peering in at them so that's the first thing they saw...

If you have additional questions or issues I would contact @attimus if possible... he had excellent luck raising a bonded Wood Duck...
