My cousin was here today looking online for day old chicks for my Broodies hahaha, she is bad ! That’s how I keep ending up with extra horses I don’t need!

But we did see a young lavender silkie cockerel free to rehome he sure looked cute

Not to be a enabler, but, how close was the silkie. He's cute so there must have been a photo. Lavender's are a pretty color. Now is the time if you look that people will start posting unwanted "accidental" males. Especially silkies since they can not be sexed at birth and are difficult to tell early on. Unless your mom that is and declare them boys minutes old. Yes, that still stings and I'm still hearing her go around mutter who was right. I vote go get the boy.

And I would dearly love be to, but with my work situation I am afraid to get more and then have to leave an MY mum has all the work dealing with another randy rooster

I was hoping I would get the job working from home but that didn't pan out I would have shoves chicks under my broodies then!

I love this! Our nest boxes are so small, though. We didn’t really knew what we were doing when we first built this coop. They are too small for two standard sized hens to squeeze into one, but does make me laugh. As long as it’s not too hot, I’ll let it be.

Even though my broodies drive me crazy, I kind of missed the drama last winter!

The nest box that these two are sharing has enough room for three. Clara is the only one who is laying in there currently, so Myrna and Penny have to be on their toes to be the first one to roll that egg under them lickety split!
