Ok folks, we have to pause the trip down memory lane for a minute because I am stumped. We also need to revisit the "Cinnamon Queen, Isa Brown or even Red Sex-link" issue all over again. The Hooligans will be 5 months in just over a week and a half. I figured I should start looking for new eggs around the 2nd week of August maybe. I have a egg that is throwing me for a loop. Every single current laying hens egg is accounted for today except Momma hens. She lays a white egg so she does not figure into this equation. I go out to top off water and look in the corner of Russ's stall, what the heck another egg? Not only that this thing is a monster.
Here is the mystery egg beside Butter's egg. Butter also lays my biggest eggs.

This thing is huge and I cannot close the lid on that carton without breaking it

For people on here that have had them, do those look like Cinnamon Queen or Isa brown eggs? Did Rural King actually have them marked right and they are not Mystery Red Chickens after all?

I just cannot see that being a pullet egg, but good lord what else can it be? I do know in the next few days I'm going to be stalking that area to see if I can catch the culprit. I also suppose if more then one of them a day start appearing soon I'll know my answer.
First eggs around these parts are smaller not bigger. That thing is huge!

These breeds along with golden comets are known for their jumbo eggs. Usually they will start out small and get larger as their bodies adjust, but the could lay that large of one right off the bat. It could also be a double yoker.
That is very interesting and good to know. Thanks!

For a poorly girl she's walking pretty fast and wants to be outside all the time

Can someone lend me a tent so i can sleep with one eye open 😴

On a brighter note: I felt something at my feet this morning. Seems that Jaffar had left the chickens room, and jumped up on my bed (in daddy’s room) he’s such a good rooster that I just held my hand out, he jumped up on it, and we had a beautiful morning snuggle (with waddle petting) He likes that! Then I took him out to the coop, where he started his 05:30 crowing.
ITS A BEAUTIFUL MORNING! :love :love:love
This story actually has really brightened my day. How sweet, thank you!

Do they like avacado ? I am trying different things with my kiddos banana is not enjoyed .
Mine love banana AND avocado. Peel and pit are toxic, but flesh of avocado isn't...according to what I have read. That said, they rarely get avocado flesh as DH loves it, so they only get the very over-ripe ones.

Tax: headless horseman , chickens, birds

Ok I’m going to try this again… I see we are all taking our own approach to the celebration photos, and we all know how great I am at taking direction sometimes so, between this and my internet issues and that most my chicken photos are on my old phone.

And with one feather going rogue in the wind… lol ruining his perfect “majestic” pose (I swear he likes to pose for the camera!)View attachment 3182787
Love the picture with his periscope feather, it echoes the strapping near him!

Same as always... just busy busy! Hosting a big event just for fun this weekend, then off to Greece for work related activities, then a few weeks later to vacation with friends as my youngest settles into year 1 of college.
The birds are great and make me laugh all the time.
Hope everyone is doing well!
I’m glad you are doing well. All sounds good!
