Very well said!My apologies for missing your loss Manue
Words are lost on me right now but my heart feels your pain.
These little battery girls really enjoy their short time. Thank you for giving her the life she had with you ❤. I'm sure she enjoyed every moment of freedom and the love she had from you![]()
Now that was a stressful ending to your day. I'm glad that you came home to find Rose better. I hope tomorrow goes better for you.Ok here is a Rose update.
The only one coughing and sneezing are Sally my old horse and I - Rose has made a miraculous recovery - these animals are going to give me grey hair!
I worries all day at work, I even called my mum to go to the barn and get her near a camera so I could check on her! When I got home they all stampeded out the door as usual and hit the dirt pile for some ‘earthworks’!!
It made my rootin tootin miserable day - worry about Rose, exhausted from no sleep all week, dealing with the new HR mngr who is driving me nuts, and then as I am pulling out of the parking space at work the chef comes barreling down the parking lot Yes I did look left! I slammed on my breaks but not soon enough - crash!
I park it and race to see if poor David was ok - he is blubbering like a baby which had me both furious, freaked out and skeptical as it wasn’t that big a crunch I was barely moving!
Anyways I hugged him patted him on the back, we surveyed damage - my poor Bessy front bumper cracked and broke, his SUV rear passenger tire rim scuffed
Anywhooo he refused to share insurance details so I let it go, I know where he works hahahahaha! Tomorrow morning I will go check on him, personally I do not care the car is 14 yrs old. And I am sure he is worried I will kick up a fuss that he was speeding…… (sigh).
I just need to get out of that place
Oh fuddle diddle I am off track here sorry for venting but the hr mngr so pee’d me off I ALMOST quit - the only reason I didn’t was because I know the horses like eating haha! Meanwhile the chickens pay their way!
But I am home, Rose is good; the weather is better and all is right with the world now. Except for three stubborn broodies
Tax for whinig
You go Rose woohoo look at that dirt fly!

That’s very possible!I think Jaffar is secretly wishing he was a naked neck, and it trying to get his girls into the look, too!

That's a great idea !New Ventilation
It is going to be super hot here this weekend so i added a fan to blow through the Cluckle Hut and cool the Rascals especially at night. I mounted it in the run so it blows the run's cooler shaded air through the coop and not the hot air from outside.

I can feel the breeze when I stand at the window on the outside. I think this will work well for them.
I hope at least I will be able to cope better! I was expecting the first chicken death to be hard... but I still feel I'm overreacting!Unfortunately, it doesn't ever get easier losing them![]()
Little vampire bats waiting to strike. The bobbing head thing is real. Glynda does it too. She will sleep with her head hanging down.

You are not overreacting. Chickens are like any animal, and when you loose any animal, you get very sad. You grew close to them and knew them so well, they aren’t friends, their family. I felt utterly destroyed when mine passed, it took so long to even be able to discuss it.A heartfelt thank you again so much to all those who have expressed their sympathy for Vanille's passing.

I have very few human friends and since I live in such a remote place I don't see them often, so I guess the chickens have become my close friends.Have I become that crazy old bat who cares only about her pets?
It was also the first time I held a living creature to it's end. I won't forget the last minute when she woke, the look she had.
