Sunset this evening.View attachment 3204890 Storm trying to blow up from the south, Hector tried to mount (and cornered) Cuckoo in the coop. Finally enough to get Cheetah to hop down and go after him. Half the Littles hunkered down I side the olive trees (Whiskey went back out to get them). Maizie got lonely (or something) without Whiskey so decided my shoulder/head was a comforting place to settle. Wound up moving across the coop with her so she could hop off on the lower cross roost. Took the above pic on my way back in after the crazies finally settled and the doors were secured. Still no storm, just the wind from the edges.

Edit: can smell the rain, though
Wow beautiful photo!

I am enjoying everyone’s night time drama as it gives me ideas to reduce my drama, glad mine don’t decide to use me as a roost tho those nails are sharp 😊

Jaffar is awake. I better be getting up too. I need to go find a cat, take a picture of it, and add it to the caterday posts.
This is my cat:

I know Maine Coon cats ❤️❤️❤️

Wow Blanche was laying eggs like that , minus the appendage! Looks like the membrane is misformed… ? How old is your hen that laid this? What breed?
The egg was too big to be from my DC girls, and no blue, so not my EE girls , but could have been from nearly anyone else. (BR, Astralorp, CM, Welsummer) They are all 1 year old. I believe it was a 'stress' egg. There have been a couple of Foxes around lately, and while the girls are safe at night/early morning in the coop/complex, having one scout out their coop area is still stressful for the girls.

This is what I found about the Azure Blue chickens. Not scientific at all, but this gives a bit about their genetic contributers (unlike Frey's site). Lots of '-bars' in their history...and not the drinking ones :lau
Thanks that’s a great link! I like the fact they lay blue eggs and are cold hardy! And they have wattles!!

Yes I can see that as a factor for sure.
