Well, one reason I'm glad I caught up backwards is Gucci! I felt much less worried reading the one post where you sounded discouraged, knowing that she did make some progress little time after!

I was very concerned about both her and Hattie for some time. The jump forward with Gucci the last few days has given me hope but there still seems to be a long way to go to be where she can take care of herself.

I have about 8 weeks until we have to go away for a long weekend for a wedding. I really need her to be going to bed on her own at that point. It could be a real problem because with them all locked in together the big girls are going to need access to the big run. I have about a month before I have to start mixing them together in order to meet that deadline.

Pangoo used to sit outside the office when I had a teams meeting and crow non stop! I had to put him outside so I could hear!

For some reason, Chaco loves hearing your voice, so I play recordings of your posts to her! Go figure you crazy horse whisperer!

It’s not caturday, but I bought a few cans of cat food, and a neighbor’s cat came out to visit. The cat food was meant for the chooks!

She’s a redhead! Have you ever been with a redhead? A very stubborn sort, but also very friendly and loyal. She’s both.

Note: never, I mean NEVER make a redhead angry (you might not even live to regret it)!

In happier news :
We've finally decided on a name for this little chick/pullet, we just picked Lea. Friendly, simple and sweet like she is.

And the slow grower is still with us and still growing. It looks more and more like a pullet. However it is very human shy, and we can't bribe it with food as it gets told off by the three others. We're still not giving it a name so as not to tempt fate and we call it piou-piou, the sound chicks make in french . They are over eight weeks old now.

Maybe it would be easier to give it a try at night when she's asleep ? It's pretty difficult to handle a struggling chicken if you're scared to hurt her or that she hurts herself .
