I postponed my Tahoe trip until next week. I need to chickensit Dakota today. (Some things are more important than money)
Many things I can do over the phone. But sometimes my personal arse is required for signatures and identification. Besides, I do like to fly over my mountains ⛰
Alex you're so right
Dakota broken wing???? What, omgosh how did I miss this. I’m so sorry…ManueB ignore my next statement please.
Against all odds, Dakota found the strength to perch with all the others in the coop. Broken wing and all so, any of you doubt her strength and ability….,
I have amazing animal friends.
Oh, I am so sorry for your loss RC, you did everything possible and then some.Rest in Peace my bella Bella
My beautiful Bella has died.
She was my dream chicken companion.
Always fashion-forward, her black snakeskin boots coordinated perfectly with her gorgeous blue, green, and purple, black feathers.
She was my first ever lap chicken. She was indescribably soft to touch, and right to the end she was grooming my hair and snuggling into my neck for a nap.
She was a loyal friend to Bernadette and stuck with her for months when she couldn't walk. In turn, Bernadette has been a constant visitor and companion for Bella.
She fought hard against the virus that killed her but it was all just too much. In the end she died peacefully and quite rapidly. She was close by her friends Bernadette and Lulu, and I was sitting with her. I hope she felt neither pain nor fear.
Bella now has a bottomless freezer filled with frozen corn, and I am left with a Bella-shaped hole in my heart.
Bon voyage Bella Dracula. You will always hold a special place in my memories.
Highlights of Bella’s short life. March 22-August 2, 2022

Her left leg climbing the stone step up after the walk over there - what a tremendous pull that was for her! I also loved that Glynda checked on her twice!Good Progress
The video below is the longest sustained walk i have ever seen Gucci take. I took her out to the far side of the grass and she had to walk all the way back into the run as Lady Featherington would not come out for some reason.
This feels like real progress for the first time.
