Staying Inside
Eve is waking up and doing well.
Meanwhile back in Hershey the girls are playing in the clean coop and have been hanging out enjoying the new straw inside. I cleaned it on Saturday and they just seem to enjoy the new straw. Check it out.
I'm sure the fresh straw is full of all sorts of good tidbits to eat up.
I'm really interested in hearing more about Hattie. I've been thinking about getting some good quality Lavender or Jubilee Orps. It will likely have to wait until we buy a place, but it's still a thought.
To describe her simply, Hattie is sweet. Being so much bigger than everyone else she really doesn't bully anyone. She is a go along get along kind of girl. She lays an XL brown egg every day. I love watching her run as she sticks her neck straight out and lumbers across the yard. She has a very high voice. Big body, little voice. I would have more orpingtons in my flock for sure.
My Buff Orp, Goldie, sounds just like your Hattie girl. I just love sticking my finger down deep in all those feathers and giving her a good scratch. She loves it too!
I was holding her when they took her back. We are underway.

Such a sweetie
I'm so glad ...and relieved. I didn't realize I was holding my breath for you until I read that post.
Sending lots of internet snuggles to baby Eve and internet hugs and chocolates to you and your family!![]()
Where do you scratch them? I have never done that.
I usually scratch them on their back between the wings. Sometimes I'll scratch their chest. You can barely see skin on my Orps. The feathers are just so dense!!!
