Yikes. I am outside trying to take pictures of the last super moon of 2022 and very near right behind me is a large animal grunting.
I don’t know whether to stay very still or high tail it back to the house.
There is a tree between me and whatever it is.
My best moon pictures - I really have not mastered how to photograph the moon, but they are quite atmospheric nonetheless

And so the worry of chicken keeping begins.

The smallest of my chicks must have gotten pecked in the eye. I cant see cuts though it is swollen. The chick is active, eating, and drinking. I poured over the ER threads here and it seems this is common. I have ever so gently with a warm washcloth tried to wipe away the bit of weepiness and bedding that is stuck there. I couldn’t get it all without risking further injury, that is one tiny eye! I put a small dab of pain reliever free Neosporin on it.

I would like to do more but the chick is so tiny and scared that I am afraid Ill do more damage then good.

The line between treating them and stressing them to much feels very fine indeed.

I’d welcome any feedback or advice.

I wish I could help but have no clues on baby chick's. It would be himalayas filtered water if it was my chickens.

Here are two links, I hope you find your answers

Thank you for the links :) I appreciate it. It appears the current consensus is saline wash and some add Terramycin. I will make the saline wash in the morning and watch it. The general prognosis seems hopeful. Its just difficult to not worry.
