How healthy is that partially cracked limb? Should it be cut off to prevent further damage, or is enough of the branch still healthy that you want to keep it?

Okay, back to question at hand. A wide cone the height of that large low branch, tied to that. The other side, a long rope ties to the thinner, higher branch! ?? !

It didn't stand a chance! They have learned that I bring in a fresh clump of grass/weeds with soil each morning...I didn't even have it in their brooder yet when they started running to the 'greens corner'!!

It is one thing to enable chickens......I need you all to knock some sense into me when it comes to horses. Hay has already risen $3.00 a bale in the last month since the floods. I currently have 3, all boys, 1 of them a stallion. I get along wonderfully with the boys. I do not need a mare with the potential attitude problems. We've all heard the term "mean mares", I've met my fair share of the knot heads. This would not be so agonizing if she had the more common long, lean and tubular build I see most Ky and Rocky mountains have. No this girl is thick and curvy and almost has a Quarter horse type build which Dirt has and is the build I adore in the breed.

I am going to stay out of this as I don’t know one end of a horse from the other. But if you need one of us to be a mature adult I will do my best for you.

I got nothing apart from the $3 for hay. You are going to have to help me if I am not to be an enabler!

I will see what I can figure out. Or maybe I will just pick some peaches and ripen them indoors.
The split branch actually has stainless steel bolts holding it together. It is the most productive part of the tree. The tree is exceedingly ancient so every season could be its last!

Gah, I need to hide from my horse facebook groups for a few days. A 11 year old Chocolate Ky Mountain mare was just listed that has the build I prefer in the breed. "I do NOT need a mare, I do NOT need a mare." watched the videos, she moves gorgously...no I repeat, "I do NOT need a mare."

Everyone remind me I have 3 horses already and do NOT need a mare.

So Isbe is back to being a massive kiss up to Rizo. This all started yesterday when she was screaming at the gate to go to the shed. Now, Rizo is the only one who ever wants to lay in the shed. Isbe used to just copy her, but she didn’t after being broody. With Rizo behind her, Isbe ran to the shed screaming. She made sure Rizo followed, and Rizo stopped to stare in the middle of the yard. Isbe got in the chair (Where Rizo lays) and was screaming for Rizo to follow. She eventually hopped off cause she didn’t come. A bit later, Rizo got in the chair. Isbe hopped in the chair while Rizo is laying an egg, and starts cleaning her face and snuggling.


So today, she screamed at the gate (making sure to look behind her and get Rizo to follow) she never did.. Isbe runs to the shed screaming for her to follow. She eventually leaves cause Rizo wont come and sits under the stairs with Rizo.

Isbe is obsessed with Rizo and always has been for some reason. She probably knows that she can’t fight Rizo, because if she tried, it only infuriates her more. When Rizo gets mad, the only thing you can do without loosing a limb is just take it, anything else makes her go godzilla. She also smells fear, so don’t back up either because that also makes her more mad.

I looked at the picture from this reply (so i opened the photo) I just woke up, and i swear i thought that was a horse. It took me a second for me to realize it was actually a chicken.
