Even though I’m not feeling well, my day has turned out worse. My church friend is sick with Covid, and I won’t be seeing him for a while. Jaffar hasn’t eaten much today, so I have him inside with me. (Feeding him chopped steak ). He will eat, if he’s separated from his ladies.

Snapping turtle chicken.

Duck, my baby chicken, is extremely sassy. At nighttime on the perch, she doesn’t like me touching ANYONE, especially near a radius of her, and most of all, touching duck is off limits. She grabs on to my finger and tugs it angrily, snapping at it (though it doesn’t hurt) and pecking it. Im not aloud to touch anyone on the roost or i see little ducks head pop up ready for snappin.

Does anyone think this could progress to be bad? Or should i just leave it.

I once put Vegemite around a tree trunk to deter possums. It worked.

That would deter anything.

Update, all 3 eggs are now pipped. The first will probably be out in a few hours but I will wait until morning to check again. I am not going under the floor after dark, I just wont.

That's so exciting. I can't wait to meet them.

The thing I don't get about killing these things is why that would help? There are plenty more in the vicinity and they will just move in to replace the one I get rid of.
I did trap and kill a number a few years ago and it took less than 24 hours for new ones to replace them.

Oh for sure! I have gotten rid of squrriels chipmunks all that, moved them out (only the same 3 or so came back) New ones stepped up, took the place, same thing!
Now none come over cause it seems like ive gotten them all, but it took a heck of a while!

Oh for sure! I have gotten rid of squrriels chipmunks all that, moved them out (only the same 3 or so came back) New ones stepped up, took the place, same thing!
Now none come over cause it seems like ive gotten them all, but it took a heck of a while!

To get rid of the issue, i like to do a catch and release trap. I catch mice, then i go drive it over to the nearest house. One thing ive learned is be sure its on the down low and sneaking them in the kitchen cabinets is usually the way to go. Also avoid doing it in your neighborhood incase someone recognizes you.

Gryffon one of the cochin girls was like that when she arrived. She did not like me touching her, or any of her sisters. It did not really hurt, more like a startle when she first started doing it. I've made it my mission to pet her several times a day and anyone in her vicinity. We have progressed to just one snap instead of several in a row.
