I've found that making a behavioral observation statement is frequently taken as a challenge to demonstrate the direct inverse of the statement. However the above statement will get them to do a 90 degree change or twist it through 3 dimensions into a pretzel with an extra knot, twist, no existent ends, an extra end or otherwise mysterious, frustrating, shocking ways.

Wishing Tax
It’s grey chilly day here, a reminder that we could have snow soon. I been to many horse shows in mid Sept were me and the horse shivered under a blanket while it snowed great huge wet flakes, while waiting to enter our class.

I dragged Dorothy off the nest box. She has been broody since 23rd July!!!!!!!!!!! I drag her off the nest a few times a day. She eats poops fluffs in the dirt for about an hour then bolts back to the nest box. She is holding her weight so I am just letting her be.

Heaven help us if I ever let her hatch chicks! I think she would be the hen from H E double L!

That is very long. I did not let Phyllis set that long.

Phyllis is at 21 days. I may let her go another week and then the Rascals are in for it. I'm sure she will take it out on them. 😕

Palace Coup

Well, well. Bernadette has landed herself the coveted spot next to the wall.
- Maggie likes that spot and often roosts early to secure it. She is accepting though that if Diana is already there, then Diana gets to keep it.
- Diana also likes it but is happy to let Maggie have it without a fight.
- Bernadette copied Maggie's strategy and went there before the others went up to roost, and somehow nobody has thrown her off!

I don't think this is a complete transferrence of power however because I gave them mash this afternoon and Bernadette very clearly had to wait until Maggie and Diana had eaten before she could get much from the plate even though there was plenty of room around the plate.
Maggie was the enforcer as you would expect.

Here is the roosting order tonight. From right to left: Bernadette, Diana, Maggie.

Yep she is determined. I think it’s more lazy now, and comfy. A nice place to snooze and hide out.

She has been leaving the box on her own past week to get out and about a few times a day, but still goes back to brood. She doesn’t even have golf balls or anything!

I have been kicking her out whenever I see her in there, goes around a bit then back in the box. Silly girl.

I have tried to get her off that nest but she is one determined gal. I can’t lock her out because everyone lays eggs in there . The funny thing is that Penelope will kick her out and go lay her egg in there!

Of course then Dorothy hops back in a covets the egg like gold 😁 one thing is for sure, if I ever let her sit on eggs she will likely be an awesome mama!

Frankly when you said you didn't feel well with a headache, very soon after reporting your church friend had Covid, that's what I suspected. I'm sorry you have it!

I had a whole rant and it disappeared when I tried to make it a spoiler, so you are all spared.

Drink a lot of fluids, it won't hurt and could help with the headache and other symptoms. If you feel crappy and that's the worst of it you are lucky. You are lucky you had a choice to be vaccinated and you chose to get the shots.

Here's my tax:

This virus is very strange. I’m hungry all the time and can’t seem to feel filled up. I haven’t lost my sense of taste or any more fever lately but it’s hot 🥵 outside and I had to go check on my chooks :love They are doing okay, except Dakota begged me to bring her inside with me. Broke my heart telling her “no, not today sweetheart!”:(
Yes I was so sick throwing up sore throat ear ache yet I had craving for a Chinese Dinner! What are n earth?!

If it comforts you the bring Dakota inside you can, birds can’t get Covid ❤️

I sure hope you feel better soon.
