This old girl gave us quite the scare Tuesday. For the first time in her life she had seizures. Noticed the first one at about 3pm. They were not really violent at first, but then at 4:30 she had a bad one. Rushed her to the vet, and she kept having small ones until 2 am. Head to toe work-up, everything is clear and normal. She just turned 10 in September. Vet thinks they were due to age and she may periodically have them now or may never have another episode. If she starts having them frequently she will go on seizure meds but for now its just a wait and see. My last golden lived to be 12, I'm not ready to loose my Gracie girl just yet.

She’s a beauty, our golden lives to 13, but he was in rough shape that last month with arthritis. Finally I put my foot down and told my parent it was his time. Newton was an awesome dog, he and the horses would hang out together, am sure if I had chickens back then I could let them free range and he would keep watch over them.

Thought many times of getting another but with me gone lots it’s hard to have a dog, horses and chickens are hard enough!

How did he know?

Branch has really not been on the front porch since the girls started setting. So explain to me how when I came out to check on the girl's progress earlier I find him standing in front of the girls looking in on the chicks. Neither Bunny or Raven seemed upset with him looking in. The chicks had their heads poked out staring at him and he was talking to them. With each new clutch of chicks my girls hatch he amazes me more and more. They may not be his, but that does not stop him from being a attentive dad. I have to say it, he is even better with momma's and chicks then my beloved Drummie was.
You really are blessed with that Branch. He is a wonderful fellow.

Dunno Bob about Lady F - doesn’t she have speckles and spots?? Love Phyllis so cute with her hairdo 💕

It’s such a lovely idea to have their portraits 🥰
I have to explain this everytime I do a new one. They were originally supposed to just a silhouette of their bums. I at times get a little fancy with them, usually for the Polish. But look at Hattie and Aurora. Lady F. Is getting the same style bum which they got. (And Glynda got). Sydney’s should be more basic as well but too late now. I was a little too creative that day. Sansa's is fancy too.

I think he is adorable! Just about any bantam is adorable too me, they are tiny chickens! :D I had a friend who had this very pretty orange colored booted bantam with little brown and white specks all over her. I love Théo's coloring. To me, chickens who have different shades and cookies in their feathers are so pretty! Don't tell my white leghorns I said that though. But of course they are beautiful to. Mine have huge tail feathers that they fan out. They almost look like peacocks.

She’s beautiful!
Thank you. She is a darling too. So sweet and steady. 🥰

Her and Glynda are a great pair. Glynda is non-stop motion. Jubilee Orpingtons supposedly tend to be more stationary chickens but Lady Featherington is always bouncing and bounding around to keep up with her friend Glynda. It's fun to watch her bounce and run.
