Hello FBA, hope you all have a nice Fluffy Butt Friday!

Mine didn't begin so well as I came upon the sheep's flock running this morning, spread throughout both sides of the dirt road. Problem was, they had five LGD's with them but no humans, including the dreaded Candy, an Anatolian shepherd we all fear. I did my best imitation of the shepherd (though there's no way I can get the local accent right) and called them out loud "Alice! Sultan ! Shabbal! Oscar! Candy ! Au troupeau !" and proceeded to avoid the sheep's by diving in the bushes on their right, to cut through the field below. I did make it alive, so I call it a victory ✌️.

I probably got lost again in translation because I also find him pretty, but I meant to say he is a pain in the butt and a very angry rooster 😱. He's crossed standard / bantam so he's the size of my smallest ex-batt hen.

@RoyalChick So what did you do with Maggie last night, and how is she ?

Sorry for rambling and here goes the butts. It's so nice to see some feathers back on some of your chickens, and some of mine. Maybe we'll make it through molting before winter!

Léa is growing some black tail feathers back : at one point she had only two left, one on each side, and I wondered if she would turn all red.

Chipie is also growing back tail feathers and look so much better! She's ready to conquer the chicken's world!

And Nougat whose butt stays dirty and relatively fluffy even through her molt.

Those are beautiful bums. Thanks so much for posting! 🥰

So I was thinking of bobs fluffy butts he does with his chooks and I want to do something similar, but with a side silhouette of them.

@BY Bob do you do a template for each of your outlines?
I take a photo of each hens from behind. I then print the photo out on card stock. I cut out the outline with a knife. I them spray paint the silhouette onto the board and enhance with hand painting.

what program are you guys using to photo edit.
For these photos I use the Cut Paste Photo app.

Fly strike will not be a realistic problem. It's too cold now. I don't think I would handle her until her molt is over.

So that leaves you with nicking of the nest boxes or moving her. Are the windows in the Palace still open or are they closed? If they are open then the nest box will actually be a warmer place for her to sleep than in front of an open window.

If you want her on the roost, I would move her at night after she settles. Something to remember though, yours go up and down the roosts at night. So you would likely have to close the boxes off.

If it were me I think I would let her go and then clean her up after she was done molting even if I had to bathe her.
Thanks Bob. I think I am going to block it off but be there and if she gets really distressed I will unblock it or help her up.
Wish me luck this afternoon!

I have to explain this everytime I do a new one. They were originally supposed to just a silhouette of their bums. I at times get a little fancy with them, usually for the Polish. But look at Hattie and Aurora. Lady F. Is getting the same style bum which they got. (And Glynda got). Sydney’s should be more basic as well but too late now. I was a little too creative that day. Sansa's is fancy too.
No rule says they have to all be the same - you are the boss!
