It was definitely a Caturday here. We spent the morning introducing the cats to the birds. It went quite well no one was injured or even chased. Though I would not remotely trust either of our tough and tumble barn cats with the chickens alone.

They are one of my main concerns once the flock is full grown and ready to free range. We shall see as my cats are full grown accomplished hunters who take out mice, voles, fish, and even a squirrel or two and thats just what I know about. They are mainly outdoor kitties so I have my doubts if it can work but maybe with these supervised visits idk 🤷‍♀️. The tweens are entirely unconcerned about the cats presence which worries me a great deal. If anyone has experience with this Id love to hear about it :)
We had Castor before we got chickens. He's afraid of them, but the younger roos all alert if he follows me over to the coop. He's wary and watchful, but retreats from them.

Mine are mainly indoors so I don’t know about the chickens. I would think a full grown chicken would be a bit big for a cat to tackle, but I don’t have experience.

And now I can't use Motrin so I gotta stop at Walgreens or dollar general on the way home to get some tylenol.
I take diclofenic a high powered NSAID it helps some. I have early onset degenerative arthritis. 47 already had a partial knee replacement. I will say the surgery was a godsend and reduced my knee pain from 8-9 to 0. I was scared and very reluctant to do surgery but in retrospect I should have done it sooner. Idk if thats an option for you but I figured I could share my experience. I still have arthritis in my spine and hands but at least I can walk without wanting to cry now. I hope you feel better ❤️‍🩹 constant pain is so hard to deal with.
