As of today Twiggy has officially hit the "Idiot" stage. Hormones have hit, he thinks he's hot stuff and any hen had better watch her back. Holly has taken great pleasure in stalking and thrashing him after he tried to jump her. A growl from either Bubba or Branch stops him in his tracks thankfully and they have not had to whip him yet. He keeps it up and he will get one though. Here are a few pictures of him this evening. Look at him, they way he's holding himself. In his little pea-brain he's all that.

I do not think the handsome excuse will work with his daddy or Bubba when he steps out of line. I swear he woke up this morning and a switch flipped. I'm going to wait and see just how smart he is though. The 2 Queens seem to like him, and did not run away from him. If he plays it smart he could have the start of his own little harem. Of course, right now he is interested in the older ladies who apparently are not cougars.

We have been making slow and steady progress with the Twiggy taming. Most times I can now catch him in under 2 minutes. Then there are times when he decides to flip me the bird and not be catchable. Every night though he is taken down from the roost for cuddles which he loves. He would sleep all night in my lap if I let him. I guess he just thinks during the day it takes away from his manliness if the ladies see him getting held.

Storm and Twirp have been doing the thrashing here. The Idiots still posture like that, but thankfully have learned a modicum of respect. They now tidbit/court, then grab. Before they just grabbed. I am slowly seeing them respect the evade away...slowly....occasionally....sigh

Yes, with hormonal idiots, the learning curve is very slow indeed! You know, there is a saying about human teenage boys 'they can't think with both heads at the same time", and we know what wins many times when they are teens.....no real difference here, except that their hormone producing items are WAY oversized compared to their bodies than humans...so idiot phase is stronger and longer, I think (relatively speaking, in terms of their maturational rate compared to humans!) They will get there! Both you and @RebeccaBoyd have good roosters to help them through this phase...so they WILL get there!
