Hmmm back to roosting?

Seems everyone is shaking things up, Have Buttercup in the window, Marty I her usual cubby hole, whiskers in a nest box, Poor Sophia in her usual spot (she is in a heavy molt), but look at those silkies! Back up on the roost, which freaks me out - after all they fly like crap, but they do crash land well!

That’s pretty good!

Time to close the pool soon?
We are having our annual soup party tomorrow. The party is held outside so the pool must be open. There will be many soups to eat, adult beverages to help keep everyone warm with a fire going to also help keep everyone warm. We will play scary old radio dramas and mark the end of outside events for the year. Therefore, It also marks the end of the open pool. I will close the pool next week.

We will not have a killing frost for a few more weeks normally so nothing pool related is in danger of freezing.

Sounds like a great soirée 😊 make sure to take some pics 🥰

Hi Phyllis!

Thinking about buying winter rye grass seeds and spreading it for coverage crop for the deer and for the good of our yard. I'll try it in the backyard too but think the chickens may eat the seeds before germination.
Yes, and a definite YES! on those thoughts. Might try a few fodder/grazing frames in strategic places in the back yard to give the seeds a chance to germinate & grow.
