I have a dilemma. Rosie picked up a small order of shrimp last night and saved the tails for the chickens. Problem is, if you count chicks, I have over 30 chickens and only 6 shrimp tails. I'm thinking Branch needs to come inside for a special treat. He will not eat anything offered outside as he gives it to the hens and chicks. Sometimes he does his job too well and I think he needs some spoiling.

I got dried shrimp treats for chickens. Mine love shrimp. They are not at all interested in dried shrimp. They only like shrimp cooked for people.
Sigh.

Add water and rehydrate them...

BTW, the cattle population is higher than the human population. These are Angus, Hereford, and cross of the 2.

Odd roost lineup the other night

Hector, Cuckoo, Cheetah and Storm.

Cheetah is usually up high...this is on one of the lowest roosts...

I’m concerned about my little rooster buddy. His breathing isn’t improving, and he’s fine during the day (but at night it’s a nightmare to hear him gasp for air) I have already called the veterinarian for an appointment.

I must wait until tomorrow to see the veterinarian (local one) I want the best for my rooster. I’m prepared to take him anywhere I have to. Situation with him is strangely acute but only at night. I’m not going to lose another of my family!!! It’s too hard to take!

My folks are in Calgary at the moment, playing with my niece. Her parents are there for the curling competition.

Maybe just needs to be outside - I had to do that with the old horse, she gets so wheezy inside the barn
