Same here. It is really hot but too windy for the Proncesses to enjoy. They are not fans of having their feathers ruffled!
I filled one of the pasture run bins with leaves. Fortunately it is acting as a bit of a wind break. So they are staying inside that part of the Chicken Palace.
I had such a good chuckle when poor Mr P got caught broadside and staggered almost falling over 😁

Windy here, after a brief rain storm blew through this morning. temps in the low 40sF. Snow in the forecast tonight. Followed by single digit (Fahrenheit) lows. 3/4 of the tribe are staying in the coop (pins are not pleasant to have ruffled). The others aren't out for long before they head back inside to straighten their feathers.
Still 23C! Crazy - never ever like this in Nov - crazy weather.

So, today, i cooked some tofu and a homegrown potato, put some cheese and pepporini bits on it, then finished it off with parmesan. With the scale being so tiny, it took about a hour.

So what have i learned today? Never put effort into making a good meal for your chickens. They literally shook their heads. They were so picky about the few bites they took, to. If it was to cooked they didn’t want it and all in all only one chicken ended up swallowing *some* of it.

Yeah im not cooking for my chickens again.
Hahaha ours eat everything but broccoli!

Hmmmm where is Buttercup? I know Misty will be up on the Hen House door, by my count I have 11 I can count, Misty on the door… and Buttercup? I better go see where she is.

What’s going on? Why fireworks? 12:40am and ver there - I hope you are getting some sleep 😢
Marie is in the UK. It is Guy Fawkes night, also known as bonfire night.

Remember, remember the 5th of November, gunpowder, treason and plot.

Guy Fawkes was supposedly planning to blow up the Houses of Parliament. Don’t worry, it was a while ago now - 1605.

It is a terrible night for pets - with fireworks going off everywhere. In my experience worse than July 4th in the US because in the US more of the fireworks seem to be part of organized events. Not random kids blowing up their back yards!

Oh right! Yes, I would have known had my dad still been living, the Canadians in the park they would stay in would have a Guy Fawkes night also…

The very reason fireworks are outlawed here because of too many complaints from farmers with stampeded cattle and horses (me including) about fireworks - now only twice a year allowed - on Canada Day and Victoria Day.
