It was enrofloxacin. Here is the dosage she mentioned on a post to RC :

She said it wasn't approved anymore for poultry where she lives but that her vet still agrees to prescribe it. If you can't get it you should definitely go with amoxicillin.
@ChicoryBlue - you may already realize this but enrofloxacin is the same as Baytril - just look at the label. And that is what @BY Bob recommended to me as the right stuff for suspected salpingitis.

Sometimes you just have a craving. I have been eating healthy all week - just about to go out and give the Princesses the guts of the butternut squash - but today I have a craving. For some reason I really want a salami and cheese sandwich. Can't explain it. However, some kind of warning went out including NY and NJ about listeria in deli meats and cheeses.
Hmmm.
I still have the craving.
Normally that sort of issue passes me by because I mostly eat stuff I cook at home. But a craving is a craving!
🤔

Is it non alcoholic?
Child and pregnancy safe and tastes fantastic. One of my sisters doesn't like eggnog.....she likes this recipe....

Found it. @ValarieF

Eggnog recipe (family friendly) parenthesis numbers make a gallon, directions are for all the above xxx stuff.

(18) 12 eggs
(2 1/4) 1 1/2c granulated sugar

Whisk together until frothy while below is heating(arm falling off: note, hand mixer saves the arm)

In sauce pan: (original recipe said put spices in a bag, not necessary, they mostly sink and continue to improve flavor)
(6) 4c milk (not skim- the more cram in it the better)
(20-25) 15-20 each whole cloves (nail spice), allspice berries
(3-4) 2-3 cinnamon sticks
Few dashes nutmeg

Heat (low-med) until very warm, NOT boiling, for at least 5 min, stir constantly (more like every min or so while frothing eggs/sugar mix) to not burn the milk.

Temper milk into eggs (with spices is fine) SLOWLY (small amounts at a time or will have scrambled eggs for your waffles instead). As the eggs warm, add more, frothing whole time (hand mixer works well).

Pour back into sauce pan (6qt stock pot works well for larger quantity). Warm over med heat. Stir constantly (and yes, this part is no joke) 5-6 min or until thickened (more like 10-15 min). Don't over cook or it lumps (still tastes great though).

Strain for spice removal (I leave the spices in to continue to infuse flavor).

Cool 2+ hours in fridge.

(6) 4c heavy whipping cream (half n half works well too)
(3) 2 tsp vanilla extract (or add vanilla pod to spices at beginning)

Sprinkle with ground cinnamon and nutmeg just before serving. Spiced rum optional.

Improves 24-48 hours.

I also want to say that I'm very relieved you will finally be operated @RebeccaBoyd. You deserve a life without pain. I'm sure Rosie can be trusted to act as a keeper - she seems a strong minded responsible young lady. We say in french dogs don't birth cats 🙂.

My hen Blanche also has these brittle feathers. It's something we have discussed on Shadrach's thread about battery hens and our best conclusion was that they had feathers of poor quality. These hens also don't molt normally so they don't have a chance of growing back new feathers. I think this could be what's affecting Larry if she is the only one. There is a type of depluming mite and for a long time I thought this was what Blanche had but I was wrong. Other hens would have rattled feathers also.

Not able to say if this is SLM but I will say if you have a suspicion DON'T bring them in your flock. It's very contagious.

Ok now for the good news that's not news to those who read it elsewhere...
Piou-piou laid an egg yesterday 💚 💚 😂!!
She's the first of Chipie's hatch to lay! What an incredible surprise for this pullet who was a runt chick that couldn't run or fly properly.
It's a tiny beige thing but I'm overjoyed. I know I'm just overdoing it 😂.

Here are two photos of her from two days ago having a drink.

Started a new med I have to take nightly until surgery. She warned me it probably would cause hot flashes and it worked fast. I did not believe her, surely it would take a bit to get into my system. I was wrong, OMG those things are no joke. I hate winter but now I see it could be my new best friend. I think if there was snow on the ground outside I would have went out and laid in it and melted it.
