Yes! I did that in the barn when I moved the horses out the other day! I just piled all the stalls with shavings and I am letting the chickens do the excavation work

Yes, I suspect there may be all sorts if violations again. We’ll see. Last time they were storing vehicles, storing supplies, storing garbage, increasing traffic, increasing noise, and running a business that is too large for and not serving the neighborhood. Those are all not allowed here. Oh! And they were fabricating right in the yard!

Can’t see that keeping a determined chicken out! How tall is it?
What a shame. It looked so nice and friendly before.

Six feet. My chickens won’t attempt to go over that. They feel too exposed in the road there.

Poor girl. Does she have bald patches? How cold is it there? Luckily, any of mine that had bald patches got that stage over before the cold set in. Good thing, because this November has been the coldest one we’ve seen in awhike (nights down into tge 30’s and frost). Usually we don’t see that until January!

Somewhere in northern Ontario

It has been a white knuckle drive this morning - squalls Whiteouts blowing snow.... Had about 20min of sheer terror as I couldn't see the road, was leading the pack of tractor-trailer trucks behind me, nowhere to turn off.... Scary!

I am pulled over now as I have some cell signal, I called home, and checked the barn cams all good caught mum doing chores.

My happy girls with their corn on the cob.

After removing all of the straw and scrubbing the floor with salt pine and eucalyptus, I added the wooden stand my friend made for them then covered it with cardboard. They now have fresh pine straw and some of the local farm staw on top for warmth.

The side perches have also been cleaned and oiled. It smells heavily in there now . Job done ✔

Please and make sure you carry a thick blanket, a flask of hot water with tea or coffee along with easy snacks so you can make instant meals with if you get stuck.
