I've been wanting snow for a while now because I want to enter the Winter on the Farm contest and I can't do that without snow! I mean, imagine taking a picture of your chickens on depressed looking grass and trees with no leaves... represents winter but snow increases chances of winning. I'd do the Chilly Coop contest but the coop is not a coop... it's a shed that used to hold the lawnmower...
Oh I look forward to seeing your photos in that case ❤️

So I was supposed to be sent home with a abdominal wrap but when it came time to leave they could not find one. Me and mom rigged one up this evening using the wrap that keeps her ice packs on her lower back. That and the ice are a huge relief. Mom is also a lpn, so she has insisted I do deep breathing exercises, controlled coughing and walking to the living room and back. What she could not prepare me for was that first sneeze. It hurt, and I cried.
Make sure anyone who is I’ll with cold/flu stays away, your body is under stress so you don’t need a virus on top of that 🥺🥺😢😢

Remember the first 72 hrs are the worst. After that you will start feeling better, also the more active you are the faster you will heal - by active I mean GENTLE walking.

Dear Aurora

I just finished your current commentary and was intrigued by your insightful suggestions.

As a up and coming leader in the Way of The Chicken I must say you suggestions surrounding insurrection are of interest to me.

You see I recently landed myself a Man Chicken who is at my beck and call, it has emboldened me so much that I was able to take down a Human, now granted this Human wasn’t expecting my attack; but it gave me the idea that making an unexpected attack is the way to gain status- as such o have started with the other of my kind (I am a Silkie), and managed to pretty much pummel the pretty little Curly Girlie whom the Human panders to.

I tried to take on Henny Penny but she’s a tough one- I continue to sneak attack her.

It is the Way Of The Chicken as you point out.

Again thank you oh majestic one and may all your attacks be bold and hearty.

Sincerely Wee Marty Pompei.

Today is 38 F and dropped down to 37 F. I think it might snow this evening. Tomorrow, it'll continue to snow and conditions may get worse around morning so they might as well close schools and make it an asynchronous day.
Grandma asks, "What do you hate about the cold weather?"
I don't like how cold it gets. Also, I don't like the condensation build-up on my window. In PA, there's a window company called Renewal by Andersen and they make fibrex windows that they say is better than wood and vinyl windows and don't bring in the cold and especially no condensation.
You can also put plastic up to your windows, I do that in the house with our big patio slider out back. I put plastic on the outside to keep drafts out, you can also put it inside (I have done this in my room where my north facing window it. It helps with condensation and drafts!

Update. Seems that I might not have enough distractions in the run for the birds to enjoy. I was instructed to add a few things to the coop and run so the chooks won’t get bored. Jaffar is healthy enough, and at his age, his roosterness has no real problems. I need a treat-ball. A plastic mirror is recommended also. The therapist said that it’s okay for him to go to town with me, but only if he wants to. Jaffar likes car rides (in my newer car) I’m just glad there’s no underlying issues with Jaffar! according to the expert, he’s alert and attentive (and sweet)
So., yay, just yay 😁
That’s awesome
What is this treat ball??

I might do some of that for my kiddies, they might be bored with jumping on the hay and running about! Maybe some tree branches to hop up on !?
