Well splinted, it should be good in 2 weeks. Maybe less, but I would be sure to have it splinted for at least 2 weeks.Do you lot have any idea how long it takes for a broken wing on a chicken to heal?
Splint it to hold the bones rigid so it can knit together. A sling won't hold it stable enough for it to knit properly.Ok- one of the SLW appears to have fractured her humerus. I currently have it in a "sling"
I've read the area on wings. If possible, actually put a splint (small tongue depressor or something similar), and wrap it - carefully weaving between wing feathers for the wrapping..Then make sure when you wrap that whole thing to the body, that the wing is aligned properly ( not twisted inward). Maybe putting a small roll between/folded wash cloth.She doesn't appear to be in much pain after I wrapped it. I followed this guide.
