Well I am beginning to get not too happy. The leghorns were supposed to be here at 10 am. I admit I was a little wary that delivery was on Christmas eve but they insisted they had to travel through Pikeville today anyway on their way for another delivery. No chickens and it is almost 1. I tried to contact them a hour ago and found I've been blocked on messenger. I feel I've been scammed and thankfully only lost my deposit and not the full price. If they do not show up today which I am now very much doubting I will just have to stalk Rural King and TSC for leghorn chicks.

Oh that's terrible. I am sorry. Hopefully they'd turn up. If not, lesson learned.

Sorry Rebecca, but as the old saying goes “a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush” I hope you didn’t get scammed! :(

Got 7 eggs out of 8 hens today 😨 . Tina is the only one taking a break. She finished molting, but is not laying. Good Tina.

It was Diana being still quite unfeathered that had me worried. She isn't completely naked but when she flaps her wings there is bare skin under there and when one of the gusts blows her feathers I can see skin and pin feathers.
Probably I was overly anxious, but no harm done (well Bernie appears not to agree with that sentiment).
I hear you! Poor Misty and Whiskers are molting, and I noted that Sophia just doesn’t seem to be ending with her molt - today she lost the last two long tail feathers.

Worse is I see Misty shivering but she won’t cozy up to the heat panel. It was +2C in the Hen House when I went out to let them out this morning so I feel ok that they are ok at night.

I went and ordered one of those Sweeter Heater overhead panels which is set to arrive sometime between the 28th and 3rd - Hope before I leave otherwise I will get my Uncle to hang it in the barn for me. I fly back on the 2nd and I will just feel better if there is some supplemental heat for them during the daytime. I will get him to hang it in Truly’s stall were they like to hang out.

36f here, cloudy with a chance of pancakes and ham this morning. Jaffar isn’t ready for today quite yet. The reason for the colder temperatures, is my foothills are covered in snow ⛄
Wow really! ? Is snow there typical? Oh I need a photo of that!

Good morning Jaffar 😊 hurry or you will miss breakfast!
