I did not.

When the peas are split apart, only the half that contains the embryo will sprout (assuming the embrionic structure/cells are not damaged when the pea seed splits)
Yes, i sprouted these by accident and was super surprised so many did. I was making soup 2/3 lentils 1/3 split peas. I soaked them and had too many and left the rest on the counter overnight by accident. Some are barely quarter pieces so wild.

Did you give the sprouted pieces to the chooks ? Did they like them?

I'm really glad to hear it. 👍
Thanks. We are good in terms of mudslides. But things have changed a little. A HUGE eucalyptus came down and snapped a power pole in half. Not at my house, but the road to my house is closed. Here is the new pole. Note old, snapped pole behind it.

We have no power, no internet, and… wait for it…

no running water!

With all the fallen trees, there are line breaks. Our tiny water company will try to find and repair them tomorrow. I’m seriously collecting rain water to flush toilets!

Lots of power outages in town, too, not just up here on the hill. And I’m sure some of you have heard about our poor coastline.

The good news is, I bet this takes us out of drought status!
