Poor darling Hattie! She was just too polite and must be feeling quite wounded by this betrayal.
Hattie was quite taken aback at first. But if you know Hattie, nothing keeps her down for long. She doesn't even pay them any mind any longer.

I moved Rocket to a quiet corner of the barn/coop this morning. Locked her in her own laying box with her nine fertile eggs (I candled them) Took her a while to adjust, but she finally did sit back down on them. Found two broken eggs under the house, that were starting to smell. Anyways, she's moved now, where I can monitor her better. :D

Tack showed up this morning demanding breakfast. She's not broody so she's a stop out.
It's possible she didn't want to venture out in the rain at roost time and decided to stay wherever she was. I've had a couple of stop outs over the years. We shall see what happens tonight.
:weeI'm so relieved! Worse than teenagers they are.

She's a strange one to be sure. She marched into my house this afternoon, on her own for a bit of food. I think the coop perching reluctance is in part to do with she has the same problem as Phyllis in not have decent vision above. She's gone into the coop tonight but it was touch and go. The thing is just purely on health grounds they are much better off in the trees, even when it's raining.

Good move. Both for her safety and your peace of mind
