Bath Time!

Aurora got her first bath yesterday. It was very traumatic for her. As you all know, she hates human contact. I had to trick her to even grab her. Her butt was a mess but it is clean now. I could not let go of her in the water like all of the others. She never relaxed. 😬

My poor wet girl afterwards. No blow dry for her. 😔

I bet she doesn't come near me for days. 😥

Oh poor girl. She does look bedraggled! But I am sure she is happy to be clean.

Because it is Friday

Just as well you've been having such warm weather ay?

Bribe her with tiny bits of cheese and mealy worms. (and get Mrs ByBob to make lasagna!)

ByBob, I was looking at the June hatch-a-long page and didn't know some of the terms.
I found an article about "pipping" and hatching and thought you might find it informative.

But warning, there is a graphic bit at the end when a chick hatches before it is quite ready. 🥺 🤢

It helped me understand why one has to be patient....which is not my forte!

Don't worry Bob, food always makes up for trauma. Ask me how I know!! LOL

I figured that I might as well wake up this morning. Jaffar jumped off the roost in my room, and on to my bed, then crowed in my ear. Yes he still won't come in the barn/coop at night, and I don't want him sleeping on the porch. He's now, out in the run crowing his Cochin head off! He's such a good rooster. Likes to snuggle, loves the ladies, eats from even a strangers hand. And he's content to being held. :D Ps. Rocked has sucessfully rejoined the rest of the flock, but still makes broody noises.

Poor darling, she does look rather horrified. But its for her own good!

I may have to give Delta a butt bath soon. Out of interest, do you use washing up liquid? Baby shampoo?
