I have two kinds. Regular Victor snap traps that I reuse a few times before discarding. And fancy electric ones which are really easy but seem to break down after a while. The electric ones are safe around pets. The snap traps need to be covered somehow or other.
I use the montrap brand electric ones in the garage.

Nice egg! Hey what happened to the pedicure! I loved those nails! 🥰
Don’t worry; I’m sure to post Valentines nails for Mani Monday. Just letting my nails breathe and making sure all the adhesive residue is off before the next set. 🤣

I had one laying a double yolk egg about every other egg most of the first year. She settled down after that.
I’ve only seen a few double yolkers in my seven years of chicken servitude. Come to think of it, they may have only come from newly laying Leghorns.

This is the last little lady that needs a name. Her body color is black based while Squirrels is brown based.

Gorgeous girls! What is her personality like? I used to name mostly on appearance (Rusty, Ruby, Cashew, Roxy, Lucky, Dorothy … even Bridge is short for Bridget, since she looks like a hot briquette 🤣).

Now I try to go more with their personality, if possible (Flo, goes with the flow, Flash is quick as a flash, Sunshine had both a sunny personality AND had feathers like flames, Minnie Minnie was not only small as a chick, like a mini Ruby, but wanted to always be at her mama Cashew’s side, even when Cashew had had enough.)

Interesting I didn’t see that, I guess I will see how that goes then!
I’ve heard Brahmas are steady winter layers, but that is not so with my Buttercup. I actually don’t think she lays at all anymore.

That brings me to another question/thought. Some of my older gals don’t lay, but will still get their red, fleshy combs, talk a lot, and squat for me, same as the laying girls. They seem healthy like there’s no internal laying going on, but I dunno.

Thoughts?
