I am high maintenance lol. The Percherons are beautiful I do love a good Arabian.

Bedouins do not like black of dark horses - they get over heated in the sun AND they stand out against the sand - they don't blend in very well And Arabian horses are war horses first and foremost - used in raiding. A grey or chestnut blended in well with the desert sand and didn't get over heated like black or bay horses do!

Honestly I don’t know how she does it. That ceramic egg is not just tossed aside it has been moved two doors along. Can hens pick up eggs and carry them?

I watched Curly roll an egg from Marty's ground floor nest box, over to her ground floor nest box beside Marty hahahaha! she just kept backing up rolling it towards her Smart chicken! Let se how she does with real babies!

Really dislike how they show horses in the middle east getting them all riled up and freaked out

They show Arabians like that in halter classes in the US as well. My best friend growing up her family owned Arabian show horses. She still breeds and shows on her own now. We went to the Nationals in Scottsdale. Honestly, it looks worse then it is. Idk how they get them to do it oversees but here they work with them and train them to do that, its all a show snort and blow tail flagged then the set up neck stretched legs placed just so. Lots of treats and snuggles in between the teaching at least this is my experience with seeing it trained. I hope thats how it is over there too.

Parmesan laid an egg today.

However this is a bad thing.
Whenever Parmesan starts laying her eggs, she starts getting aggressive but not Mozzarella.
This will be a day to remember. She's trying to hide her face so she turned 180 degrees.

But - ya - he was a nice looking strong horse. His mums side was what I was interested in - Dalul, I love that horse's bloodlines.

AND stallions were frowned upon - they were nothing but trouble, and noisy. Mares on the other hand were like gold, and they had more stamina (so it is told haha), also mares were very quiet during raids, and unlike stallions could run and piddle without stopping! Rather cruel I think! But I guess having to stop and piddle when you just raided a neighbouring tribe could be a bad thing!

So you would not find a stallion in a bedouin camp at all only a mare - she was worth more than gold and slept in the tents with the women who cared for them

Actually if I told you horror stories you would bawl - one of the reasons I do not show on the Arab circuit anymore. That and I found Arabian owners/trainers to be horrid people! Rude, and only out to make a buck

So back in the early 2000s when the horse market pretty much collapsed I just kept my last foals and called it quits. I had Truly's half sister Malaka (by Imperial Baarez https://www.arabianessence.tv/horses/imperial-baarez/245/ ), but I ended up selling her. She actually is out here somewhere near Grande Prairie. I often think about looking her up - but then I decide not to - I don't want to see her if she is not treated well. I am not in a position to get another horse

A determined hen CAN move eggs. I caught one red handed winged with one tucked up by the armpit...trying to steal it and put it in HER nest box. Unfortunately, she dropped it on the nest box lip and it broke.
