No no, i mean’t liking EVERY post. From the very beginning.
That would be annoying because people would be getting notifications from years ago. I have lost motivation and decided against it, though!
I didn't like every post when reading through the history. Once I caught up, mostly yes.

I can't tell if they're Roos or pullets until I get an egg or a crow 😅
I picked Hector out of a straight run at the feed store....looking for a roo. All I had to go on was stance, but he kept standing and looking around with the chest up and out. I think we stood there and watched the chicks for a good 20 min. The brahmas and the susses were all supposed to be pullets, and we watched them for a bit too (if I'd seen roo stances with any of those, I probably would NOT have gotten Hector, but that chick instead. The ones listed as pullets all looked/moved like pullets.

Wow! I wish I could finish reading all 13463 pages, i’ll try! I love the name Fluffy Butt Acres, it’s adorable ! Wonderful flocks everyone! 💕
Welcome aboard. I did read it all....was under 5000 pages when I started....don't think I could do it now, but there's some valuable info in those early pages, so worth the effort.

If you include an older roo like Mr P, you won't have to deal with the teenage drama...
And they crow :)

Hey PP! :hugs I’m ok, super busy so can’t keep up with this thread but I miss everyone! Did you see the video of the broody owl? It made me think of everyone who has broodies and roosters.

How are you and how’s the job?
No! I haven't seen it! Do you have a link?

All is good here, been a very mild winter way up here (thankfully haha). I should be on my way home in a few weeks.

And all the enablers here had me ordering chicks - so I have 5 Dark Brahma and 5 Bielefelder day-old pullets ordered for April 13/14!
Look at it this way: she has confidence in herself...

No! But that is a great idea! Though do you know how much snow I would need for even 1cup if water 😆

I was just about to go out and fill up the big crock pot with snow, then I remembered it would only melt down to a small amount haha!

But great idea!
We had the pump on the well go out when my folks lived at 6600+ feet....in early January. The pitless (?) connector broke (the thing that connects the vertical pipe in the well to the main pipe going into the house. The main was 7 feet underground (to keep ot from freezing), so dad had to dig through the frozen ground down the outside of the well casing to get to it. Then we had to reassemble the vertical pipe (with the 4 foot long pump on the end), dropping it down the well (in a controlled way) and slide the other piece into the one to reconnect it. We had no running water for the better part of a week. Fortunately, we had a hot tub, so buckets from that to flush the toilets and more buckets scooped through the 4 feet of snow to refill the tub. That was one of those "fun" jobs that had to get done. Reward: hot bath after to warm back up.

Tax: bath time
