No! But that is a great idea! Though do you know how much snow I would need for even 1cup if water

I was just about to go out and fill up the big crock pot with snow, then I remembered it would only melt down to a small amount haha!

But great idea!

Just keep filling it until you get enough. It melts fast.

No no, i mean’t liking EVERY post. From the very beginning.
That would be annoying because people would be getting notifications from years ago. I have lost motivation and decided against it, though!

When others have put hearts in very old posts it has been a fun trip down memory lane. I like it. I have turned off email notifications of course.

Small amount is better than no amount.

And, of course it varies with the temp/condition of the snow, but the general rule of thumb is 10" snow - 1" H2O

so, if you have a 5qt crock pot (approx. 4,800 ccs, or 160 oz) you should get about 480 cc or 16 oz of water.

so, load up that crock pot tonight, when you get up n am, pour melted snow (now H2O) into a container, and load'er up again!

You know, kind of like the shampoo bottle instructions = lather, rinse, repeat...

For 1 gal. flush, you will only need to do that 8 times is all. Not too bad!

Chiquita is the best little momma. She is so proud of her babies and brings them to anybody outside to show them off unlike someone else we know. She is actually encouraging their flying skills by hopping up on things and having them fly up to her. If they take it a step farther and go higher up on things, as long as she can see them she is good. Yesterday evening mom was outside sitting with the horses. Chiquita came up with the marshmallows and she started dustbathing right beside mom's foot. This allowed her time to really visit with them. She was able to pick them up and place them in her lap without any fussing from either the chicks or momma. Considering mom claims the Marshmallows as her chickens she was thrilled. When she came in she declared Chiquita the best mother hen I have and anytime she wants chicks in the future she gets them.

Leghorns are like that. Sweet little chickies!

Chiquita seems to be doing very well raising them.

New Coop

Well it happened. I had to build a new coop to accommodate the new peeps that will be arriving for Easter. My granddaughter Eve and my daughter were here to help me with it this weekend.
