Move over!
Everyone wants to roost on top of the nest boxes - sheesh! It's not like there isn't enough room on the roosts, and the shelf, and all the nest boxes - noooo - they want to roost on top of them.... gahhhhh!

I am afraid to check now to see how it all settled.

Well looks like it's still a free for all in there, and Mr P has decided to hog the roost for himself. At least Fluffy and Curly are staying clear, hanging out by the wall. Good Girls!

Tx Noob,

I saw a tag sale yesterday when out (Really, a tag sale in Feb, around here???) but couldn't stop. Had to go out just for a bit today - and went by the sale again.. so, of course, I had to stop!

This is what I got ($5 each)

Plastic Dog Crate: I have some full wire ones, but only 1 this size plastic one - having the sides mostly enclosed can be better at times instead of full-open, raccoon can reach through, wire sides. (It needs some cleaning, but otherwise if fine.)

TxNoob, I wish you were close to me - I would give this to you if you were!!!
A round wooden coffee table in really good shape. a bit low, I think, but I'm considering putting a 4x4 under the legs to raise it up some. It is about 30" in diameter.

And, lastly, this - which I am the most excited about!

It is a small wooden kids chair - in great condition - all joints still strong/solid.! I'll put a couple of coats of spar urethane on it and give it to my husband's niece. She has two kids (will be 3 & 1 yrs. old this summer), and I am going to help build her a better coop...and give her some more chicks. She has 3 2 y. o. hens atm, and is using a prefab supposedly suitable for 6 chickens, but the interior is only 30" x 2'. It was originally used for 6 hens (not by her) and we were told that only 4 fit on the roost, the other 2 'roosted' in the nest box.(1 each of the 2 smallish nest boxes).

I think the kids would like to have a chair they can have in the run to sit with the chickens. I'll suggest to Jasmine that she tie a piece of cardboard onto the seat that can be lifted when the girls want to sit down.

Roosting is Broken
Phyllis is in the Cluckle Hut alone.

Betty is in Hattie House alone.

Everyone else is in the main coop. Hattie in nest box number one and everyone else up here!

I actually am loving 🥰 🥰 🥰 that the 4 of them are roosting somewhat peacefully together!

sad that Phyllis and Betty are each choosing to roost by themselves in their own hut. :(

I'm hoping that once the days get longer (really, nights shorter) Hattie will want to roost again...maybe she will have company? Though probably not Phyllis nor betty, huh??:fl:fl

Is Betty thinking about being broody///is that why she is out in the Hattie House??? Or is it just that Phyllis picks on her, so not in the cluckle hut...and Arora makes it too much of a challenge in FB house??:idunno:confused::idunno

Theres lots of people that appreciate stuff like that. I for one do. Im always buying used stuff. Repurposing is fun.

Wow, what a handsome lad!!!! I'm so sorry you lost him :(
Hector isn't the one I lost. He's my australorp big boy. Rusty was my jersey giant with red shoulders (and the one killed with Storm's Mama) and is in my profile pic. He was standing on the GROUND in front of those steps. Pear is in front of him.
