And Thing being a chicken. Still have to pack her up here to go walkabout work Cheetah's crew

But yesterday's bathing was near the coop and all on her own initiative.

I just roll with the punches. As she is quick to point out that she does most of the daily work around here. I do love our variety of chickens and eggs. And all our dogs are sweethearts. I was doing my annual service on our riding mower yesterday. It was a challenge changing the belt and blades with a half dozen dogs trying to lick my face

Perdita is not a black chicken, she is a green chicken. Looking at her it is no wonder that I think my black ones are the prettiest.

Under different lighting, that green turns purple and sometimes blue.

She is stunning she looks a lot like a Orpington with fluffy feet added in.

I took these at the edge of dark last night. It is not supposed to rain today so I will try to go out and get better ones.
Here is a quick shot of Meko on the move heading to get her favorite spot on the roost. Once I taught her to roost in the coop instead of one of the horses backs she has to be the first one up. She prefers to be right in the middle so she has to be up first.

This one shows just how big the girls are. Ducky and Grackle hanging out with the big girls.

It will not be much longer and Grackle is going to make it extremely hard to pick her out in the crowd.

Truth!

I can see that, but if you knew her mother you would not think that. Miss attitude half the time walks around with her hackles half flared. This has allowed me to peg miss Grumpy Gryffon as her mother. She is the bigger of the 2 cochin girls and still likes to try to take a chunk out of me when I pet her.
