My New Favorite TV Commercial

wow that’s a lot of hens!!! A sea of red chickens🥰 would hate to hunt for all their eggs!
Thanks for the tip. I have seen a few of them pecking at it, or at the calcium disk and bell on the bottom. There are also a few playing with the mirror on occasion. One of them grabbed a bell that is dangling from it. When she couldn’t get it to pull loose and let go it scared the crap out of her when to started spinning and jingling. 😂

Actually, this isn’t entirely true. The Black Vulture will eat live animals as well as carrion, and do attack newborn calves. So it is possible the farmers there have heard about vultures eating calves and lambs, and don’t realize it is only Black Vultures that do this.

The only reason I knew this is because there is a breeding pair that lays in an old culvert on our property, so I was curious and researched them.

first off got a chuckle over your kiddo and the bell hahaha!

Vultures: wow never knew that, we don’t have them in my area that I know of. I only see the turkey vultures- they nest next door.

I haven’t been worrying about them when they flap/fly/soar overhead but maybe I better be more leery of them 😳 I haven’t been giving the panic signal when I see them.

Those photos of the youngsters are amazing! Those small eggs and then those big babies! And I thought chickens growing up was amazing!

My Rooster Cogburn was a game rooster. I had him when I was a wee lad. He tortured my youngest brother. Chased him all over the yard. Other than that he was a great rooster.

Sadly, I have no photos of him though. No one ever took any. This is the only surviving photo of my chickens from back then. This is me with Speck and Brownie.

I buy their eggs when I need eggs. They get the ‘Certified Humane’ stamp that is independently verified. I just wish they would have a different breed of chicken.
They mention in this article that they tried various breeds, needed one that was able to free-range and handle weather extremes:

I am betting you won't need to purchase eggs much any further! ❤️

Jr was injured as a chick and was cross beaked. 2 days ago he injured his top beak and it broke near the original injury. Hoping it grows back more straight. May attempt to file the bottom beak a little at a time to help match up.
