When do you think it’s better to integrate.. when they are little or when they are older and can defend themselves better...? I’m starting to wonder if younger is better as they are not a threat in any way... I have them in the coop now in their safe space.... only the bullies seem interested! View attachment 2202246
Time for 'tiny doors'!
@WhoDatChick , have you seen this article?

Very clever tiny doors. 😊 ( I don't understand why @aart didn't link it. You are too modest aart, I had to go searching for this! )

Me too :D... she is so friendly and tries to jump up on whatever she can so she can be right next to my face! I have a feeling she will be my first gal to fly up to my shoulder... I don’t have one of those.. and boy, can she fly for being so little.. she’s been flying since first week!
It’s so funny how some are immediately friendly and some are very wary... Clementine won’t come near me.. Trump is in between... you never know what kind of personality you’re gonna get with chickens
I am sad to say my littles don’t like me very much. They seem very happy with their life and their antics make me laugh but they run away from me. It is OK, their choice, and the big Princesses seem to like me quite a lot. But I don’t think either Minnie or Dotty is going to be a cuddle chicken. 🙁

Mornin all! Well these two masters of broodiness are at it again :barnie.... I decided to make some extra nest boxes for the broodies since I will no longer be jailing them... this way they can’t hog all the favorite nests... that’s Cutie and Lil Red... stinkers!

Don't make that decision so soon. Daisy, the greatest hen ever, was a wild woman as at 6 weeks i could get nowhere near her. It was insane. I had to be very careful. I was afraid that she would get away and that would be that. I would never be able to catch her.

Instead she become The Greatest Hen Ever and super lappy. In fact their were times I had to put her down because I had other stuff to do. Just keep spending time with them. You never know.

The 3 week old chicks are doing great with the big hens. they have been out in the cook for 2 weeks. We took the dogs for a walk and when we got back I found the chicks "sitting on the stoop" [I like to call it] out in the run. I was so excited, it was so cute.
