I have a unnamed son of Cholo that is about 2 months old or a little more.

Hmmm, too bad he is so young...Hattie needs a mate now...by the end of spring 'flush' when he is old enough, she may not lay any more this year/season. I have to say, if you were closer, I would consider buying him off of you. Your two boys look wonderful, and from what you have said, seem to be upstanding Roos, too!

Oh my the baby Hattie pics are adorable if that doesn’t convince RC I don't know what will! So much fluff even as a baby and she had that sweet soft eye then too. Love these photographs.

Lay-about
Hattie has taken to resting while eating these days. Right in the middle of the yard!

She is actually a lot more active since it warmed up. I believe I will start treating her for arthritis this fall. Much like I did with Lilly.

For example, In February I could not get her to come to the deck despite the treats. This was today.

I just put 3 eggs under Marty, and 3 under Fluffy. They both rolled the eggs under themselves and did that jiggly fluff to settle on them.

Of course that means nothing…

Yes just borrow a nice Orpington Roo like I am doing with my silkies! He is going to visit for a month then go back home!
That’s all you need to do, borrow a Roo!


Oh perfect! He can grow up and be bossed around by Bernie! Learn his place in the pecking order and this day and age it’s real easy to ship birds

Silkies make wonderful roo's as well, and great dads, just saying.

Bantam Cochin's like Jaffar are also wonderful roo's, just ask Alex, or Maran's for that matter.
Of course, mine and Alex's boys have feathered feet. One day, I will bring our friend @RoyalChick over to the dark side. One day.

Preening but I swear in this pic she looks like she about to start a tussle.

@BY Bob is there a 'natural' remedy that might help with inflammation? I ask meaning in the sense of how cinnamon is good for diabetics, as it helps some with regulating blood sugar and with insulin resistance. So, I was thinking maybe an herb that might slightly lessen inflammation, and then you could supplement that with arthritis meds during cold and/or damp weather when arthritis seems to be at it's worst?

Hmmm, I just found this article. Would need to do more research, as I'm not sure of the value of this article in particular - would want one with more data...but was thinking that leaning heavier on treats that might 'help', might help??? I personally believe that most herbs won't cure things, once you have them, but they can sometimes help as part of a overall health plan. Not sure what you think on that, and it is perfectly okay if you think otherwise. Just spitballing, 'cause I love Hattie and wish for her to live to a ripe old age with good health and a good, non-painful, old age.

I want a silkie roo but I think mine are all hens theres no one acting like a rooster.
