My brother's Agriculture class are raising meat chickens, but my class feeds them and gives them water when they are out. On Mondsy we went to move the tractor and a kid screamed "THERES A DEAD CHICK!!" I was already annoyed because no one would listen to my poor teacher.
"MRS....... IS DOING SOMETHING ELSE, JUST CHILL!" I snapped. Everyone glares at me. I honestly don't care...
The chicken had probably died from the cold. We went from high 80's to low 50's. Poor chick.

Maybe make a suggestion for appropriate warm housing for them. ,

Broody hens

Well I guess I was generalizing when I said everyone was going broody.

I guess it really is a bit too early for most of us to have broodies, it's early, and for most still too.cold for chicks (fyi going to be 27C in Toronto, 26C for me )

I’m off. Back in 10 days. I will try to keep up.
Both Eli and Babs are in the nest boxes laying as I take off. Of course I will worry like crazy about Eli while I am away, but there wasn’t much I could do for her even when I was there. I am just hoping she only lays single yolk eggs.
Everyone roosted together last night. So I was happy about that.
