Ya darn photos didn’t load and then I replied to Big Roo - I changed to the 5g network here so here is hoping it works better! I will see if I can post...

Nope my iPhone still is not happy. Back to my android, going to start taking photos with this phone.
It's an iMess.

Anyone else have a socially awkward chicken? We got this little lady recently and she didn’t know how to interact with other chickens, wouldn’t even eat snacks like spinach and once spent 6 hours facing a wall. After a week of her sitting in a corner all day, I ended up placing her into a smaller cage as she was getting bullied by my other silkies. It’s helped a lot and she’s getting less shy now
It is always hard to integrate a single chicken. Even more so if they have a passive personality. Putting them where everyone else can see them without attacking them will help. It also helps to feed them where your existing chickens can see the new chicken without being able to reach them but they eat together at the same time. Find out what treat excites her and use that to get her eating with the rest of your chickens. That should help.

She is likely to always be an outsider like my poor Betty is now. It is always better to add 2 or more chickens so they have a built in friend when trying to integrate.

:wee:weeOne of my pullets, a White Rock is broody! She has sat consistently for 2 days now (well 1.5 days - 2 nights). This weekend I will move her to the broody tractor and give her some eggs to hatch. (Maybe tomorrow night if it stays nice enough for me to clean it out and prep it with new bedding, food & water) I have never had one go broody this early...they usually wait until late June or July (or August, like last year!)

If she sticks it out, she will get the 'special leg band' Those are for my hens that brood - and it means they get to stay as long as they live.:)🥰

I did some testing and it only seems to be with BYC that I am having any issues.

Any other website I go to is fine, I can get my email etc and it’s all good, but as soon as 9am then I can’t post anything with my iPhone on BYC! After 11pm I can once again post fine - has to be either BYC server capacity, or something with their site and iPhone OS/browser…

My Android has no problems.

Let’s see if I can post this!?

Now see? I wanted to post a photo of Martina earlier and it wouldn’t! And that gets my messages all balled up then.

I was looking at her legs and they seem stocky for a pullet …

She definitely has her mamas feet 😳🤭

Maybe I need another run of 48" fence? Find some way to stack them... Would that contain them?!?
2" strong knotted aviary netting, secured on something. I use greenhouse frames without any covering because they are tall and I can walk beneath them. I secure the bottom sides with stones or boards near the base of the electric fencing with a pathway between. This keeps aerial predators out too.

The smaller cage where everyone can see eachother but not touch is functioning like I think @BY Bob suggested for integration. Facing a wall is not normal unless she can't see or is ill. Can she see past that poofy topknot? I think @Ponypoor suggested this? You may want to trim her feathers there a bit, it may help at least for the integration phase.
