A wifi booster is not going to work. Get a wireless bridge and put that in the shed. You will then have internet out in the shed.

I would recommend a camera like Reolink or Foscam, or Swann. They have been around a long time and work great.

Wow! I have bookmarked all the IR posts and articles and will look at them all in a day or so.
I came back from my trip and became really sick - temperature of 103F (or 39.4C, which sounds so much less scary!).
I am tentatively going to try sipping some soup and then going back to bed.
The feline nurses have been working round the clock - by which I mean they take turns on which one will sleep on my head, my shoulders and my knees. With support like that I am bound to feel better soon!

Hopefully your chooks don’t miss you too much, listen to what you nurses tell you to do, sounds like them are pinning you down so you don’t leave the bed

I almost don't dare to ask - but what is a wireless bridge vs a booster.

A wifi booster will help to boost a signal in an area of your home/business that has a weak signal. They are good if they are not too far from the router.

Booster (in an area of my house where there is poor wifi signal)

A wireless bridge is like an Ethernet cable. Since it’s about 300’ or more to my barn it’s too far for me to lay cable in a cost effective manner. The bridge has a transmitter and receiver component; the transmitter goes at the house and send the signal to the barn where I have my receiver. It transmits 2-way signal traffic.

This is how I can sit in my office in the barn and have internet, and my cameras working. And how when I am 4,000km away working I can spy on the chooks, horses and the house

This is the Reolink app - my chooks are waiting for me! (Notice my signal strength, I am in the area of the house where my booster is, without the booster here I would have no signal)

Last night's storm put another foot and a half of water in our pond. Now we are only two feet low. Another good storm will about fill it up. This is the fullest it has been in 3 years. Will pay pond tax when I'm done fishing. View attachment 3476075View attachment 3476078

I haven't caught up yet - heading back to bed shortly after I visit with the Princesses, but it looks like the crack team of FBA researchers are coming to some conclusions on IR and chicken eyesight.
One question I have about the cameras is whether there is a difference between the wavelength they use for motion detection vs for recording.
I don't really understand how it works, but unless the camera is off fully I believe it has motion detection capability and filming capability.
So my cameras I can have the following settings:
- Off. In this case it is not emitting anything
- View Live. This is when I choose to turn it on to see what is going on. It isn't detecting motion it is just viewing whatever is or is not happening
- Record if triggered by motion. It is this third one that I am curious about - the sensor for motion must be emitting something and then if triggered the camera comes on. Are those different types of IR or the same?
Sorry - my brain is not at its clearest - hopefully you get what I am asking.
