Or get a few more hens to shake things up. 3 is a hard number for any group or herd - better to have 6 or 7 ( like bob does)

Time Thieves

Not getting much done with these kiddos!

Martina wouldn’t come out for her photo, but she did try to fly over the top of the bin they are in (small water trough). She almost made it too!!!

These are Sophia’s two kiddos.

I was half expecting to see bicycle rims and tires on that tractor.
It’s my imagination hard at work I guess.

Those are replacement wheels for a wheelbarrow. I have some slightly bigger tires lined up for Goldie's tractor.

We had an unusual incident last night. Sometime yesterday one of the baby turkeys escaped their box and got stuck behind our fridge. In the process it got one of it's wings hung up and broken. We wrapped the one wing to it's body and gave it honey water. It perked up immediately and we hand fed wet chick starter. It survived the night but we are having to hand feed and dip it's beak in water to get it to drink. I'll post a pic shortly.

Goose has 2 chicks out. One of her own eggs hatched and it is black as can be. She also hatched out her momma's silkie egg. I will know for sure in about a week when the feathers come in, but, I do believe this one is a pure silkie and is a Branch chick. The chick is partridge colored and I know I should not get that from a liaison with my Marans Bubba. First thing I thought of when I saw that chick was Ezzie. Goose still has 2 more eggs to go. Both of Gryffyns eggs have also pipped, now it is just a waiting game. I will go out in a little bit to get pictures of the first 2 out. You all, I am in serious trouble if the partridge chick is in fact a pure silkie and is a boy.

I just wanted to snuggle her 2 chicks for a second. Goose was having none of that. Up to this point she was just a growly shrieking pancake broody. Now she has babies, she is a biting "I Will Eat You" broody. Her wishes were respected and chicks returned before I lost any skin to her. I woke up with a headache this morning. As soon as the coffee and mortin kick in and it eases off I'm going back out to the coop. While it is not needed right this minute I want to put a dish of chick starter out for them and some water.

So now the turkey chick is eating and drinking on its own. Here's a picture of it relaxing after it's breakfast.
