OMG - what a bunch of idiots! I never use UPS because I have had so many issues with them here. And Purolator. FedEx has been really reliable! And Amazon gets my stuff here usually ahead of time and I live in the boonies, if they can then what's the issue with UPS and Purolator?

Put on your smelliest barn clothes and boots full of horse and chicken poop (ok in your case just the chicken poop), stomp up to the counter (make sure you stomp hard enough for all that crud in the treads of your boots to come out in clumps - big smelly clumps), take off your gloves that smell like horse pee (or chicken cecal poop - ooo yummy), lay them on the counter next to the person you're going to roast (ooops talk to) and every so often pick up a glove and wave it in the air as if in dispair (mmmmm smelly) and proceed to tell them that it is extremely important to FIND that package.

(yep been there - it didn't get much results but it sure was fun watching their noses wrinkle up I still had to drive 45 to Stayner for the package they DROPPED off at the brewery there - WTH???!!)
I don't use boots or barn clothes. Maybe take a chicken with me. They usually have clumps on their feet. Have it perch on my arm, over the counter, and wear the shirt In Albis pooped on.

Twofer Tuesday.
Everything here is soaked and muddy. These two are having a blast getting covered in mud and digging for worm.

I have filed a claim so may get my money back. But that doesn't compensate for the stress to poor Eli travelling to the vet and having her toenail cut to draw blood.
And of course it also doesn't compensate me for the anxiety and not having test results.
If it gets there in the next 48 hours they can still do the Marek's test I believe but not the Avian Leukosis test. We only have until end of day for the Avian Leukosis test to work.
I also need to decide what to do about the babies. I think I am going to move them into the Chicken Palace even without any test results.
If the package never shows up I have to decide whether to subject Eli to that stress again and if so, when. It could not be before next week because by Thursday it will be too late as the lab is closed at the weekend and I am out a lot of the day tomorrow.
Also want to be calm if I am going to attempt blood collection on my own.
Oh I am soooooooo mad!

Pigletine tax to calm myself down.

I'm so very sorry. :hugs:hugs

The added stress was unnecessary for certain. Perhaps a personal letter to the CEO at UPS would make you feel better. There are ways to get them through secretaries, screescreener, to be read. I am happy to share.

I think it is a good move to put them out with your girls, my three have fit in really well, and I attribute that to letting everyone see them from those first early days.

Now they are running around in the barn and a bit outside like pros, they know to run and hide from the beo.... (errr I mean bully girls), and the rest just ignore them. They won't be 3 weeks old until Thursday - and it is miserably cold here but they are thriving! It's still only 6C (43F), this morning it was 4C - and they were buzzing around like crazy, when they got cold they would run under their brooder plate, but that wasn't often.

Can't wait for them to see snow tomorrow morning hahahahaha - mean Kelly! :)

As for your girl, I know you are more than capable of clipping a toe nail short and getting that blood sample. Just wrap her up tight in a towel and then lots of treats after... I have a lot of faith in you 💞

(I will have to do something similar to gender test those silkie chicks, but I think I will get blood feathers instead - their toes are just soooo tiny!)
Having babies out with the adults early.....smart babes and they're hardier than ya think. As long as the have access to their warming spot, (and places to escape the bigs) they'll be fine. Watching them learn from the adults is fascinating.

It being Tuesday and all, I have a question…..
besides twofer Tuesday, it’s usually taco Tuesday most places as well.
My question is: are fish tacos considered tacos as well as other types of tacos, tacos. Or is only beef or pork tacos considered tacos to taco Tuesday.?
Here’s a twofer from the past:

As someone who grew up in Fish Taco land, yes, they are tacos.

Good for Hector!!! Maybe the idiots 'divide and conquer' strategy won't work anymore.
I do hope Kren smartens up. That said, if he doesn't, you really DON'T want offspring from him, so if he must go to freezer camp, it will probably give you less grief long term if he does.

Poor Castor! Glad he is okay, and sure hope he had 'juicy' dinners the couple of days he was in their. Mice would have given him both food and moisture...even if not sufficient long term on either - enough so he would be okay. (assuming he is a good mouser and caught some!) Glad the chickens recognized the degree of hunger in him and gave him some room. He probably wouldn't have backed away so easily given his current food drive after being locked up for a few days!
My son (and helper on the coop clean out) is wanting to put both Kren and Horus in the stew pot. After this morning, I'm thinking we're going to have to sooner rather than wait it out. I was shocked to see Hector get involved....and delighted to see Kren get run off so fast. That ended the spat. At this point, the lack of broodiness may be due to Kren and/or Horus.

Castor is enough of a good mouser that when we were first bringing him into the house to get home comfortable for mouse hunting, he went for and caught one immediately. We have a bit of a mess in the garage, so I'm attributing that to him chasing a mouse and knocking things over in the process.
