I am. Every 3-4 hours I boot her off if she doesn’t come off on her own. You’re over thinking this
She is doing a natural thing and she will be ok, you are making sure of that.
Get a fan and put in there to blow the air around over her - not too close you don’t want a hurricane!
I took Dorothy off the nest 3 or 4 times a day. Maybe you can try that.
Happy hatch day Jaffar!I never actually knew when Jaffar’s hatchday was. The previous family he came from, said in the spring. So I’m designating today may12 as his birthday number 2 for each year. His. Number 1 birthday is near Christmas. Happy birthday Jaffar you great rooster you!![]()
They are wonderful. She ended up with 3 girls and 1 boy. The boy was the grey and white one that I fell for when she sent me a picture of it. Momma Reese has been spayed for almost 2 weeks now. She rehomed 2 of the girls with a co-worker. She planned on rehoming the other 2 to a different co-worker. 2 days before she was supposed to pick them up sis lost it, she did not want to let both go, but had promised her both. Well, the co-worker never showed up to get them. Sara took that as a sign and started saying she wanted to keep 1 if not both. It became official a few days ago when her boyfriend agreed to keep them both. The boy is Mouse and the calico is Crusty.Oh that’s such a great gift
Hey how are those kittens of your sister?

Crusty with Jynx. I never thought that Jynx would take up with one of the kittens. She is very anti-social towards both people and other cats. She loves both kittens, but really has a bond with Crusty.

I informed sis that she has 3 more cats, it is time to give me Jynx back. It went in one ear and out the other.
Okay, How about Calypsa for a name, and Cali or Caly for short???This may be more her thing
Do you have a small plastic bottle (like a 8oz to 16 oz size? If so, fill it mostly with water, squeeze the sides a bit and cap it, then put in freezer. Put it in a cozie or wrap with old washcloth and set in the corner of her nest box - upright with some bedding between bottle and her. I believe the nest boxes are plenty big enough that if you put it in the corner, she could be away from it if she wanted. (yes?) So, if she is overheated, she will inch closer to it and it will create a cool corner in the nest box, but it won't be torture and freeze her out.My latest worry with Eli is the temperature. It is up in the 80s and she is panting.
I have left a little cat food can with water in her nest. I caught myself worrying about the eggs if she spilled it. They aren’t real eggs!
I have also topped up all her favorite wild water spots in case she comes out on her own.
I am sure I am overthinking this but I do worry about her!
I am the crazy chicken lady, sis is the crazy cat lady. My silkies are converting her though. She's already stated when she buys a house and has a yard she would not mind a few fuzzy chickens running around. They are beautiful cats.
I am glad some got to stay.

Neither a heart nor a sad face was appropriate....just this for youI hate it!
I miss having her around and crawling over me looking for sunflower seeds.
I hate worrying that she isn’t eating or drinking enough - particularly as she was unwell immediately prior.
I hate that she is going to be disappointed after all this effort and I can’t explain that to her so she stops sooner.
That said, she is very cute perching on my hand and running around tut-tutting.
But really I just wish she would stop.
I am wondering if I mess up her nest sooner than 21 days if she might give up.
I don’t think she is a quitter by nature so I am not optimistic about that.
All good ideas. I just left the can of water in the corner because I realized that the worst thing that could happen if she spills it is that she thinks her nest is flooded and abandons it.Okay, How about Calypsa for a name, and Cali or Caly for short???

You can also, if you have a large enough clamp, take the little empty kitty can, CLAMP it to the outside lip of the nest box (then won't spill), put a little bit of water and an ice cube in it.
If you aren't able to clamp it to the nest box, you can find some dishes like these at almost any pet store, they just fit over the dishpan lip (with tension), so are less likely to be knocked over - and you can do the bit of water and ice cube with these. For extra security that it doesn't get tipped over, place a brick or block of wood under it for a bit more support. I haven't had an issue with them coming off, thought when I hook it on the outside if the dishpan.
Oh, and the fake eggs? They probably aren't enjoying the heat either! They might like a cooling bath![]()
