I'm so sad you had to let her go. You were brave and selfless I applaud youWHAT THE BLEEP???
How did Mrs Clean-egg get Peronitis??
Today she wasn't herself, just sitting in the corner doing nothing. Both she and I knew it was her time, but I don't have the gut to do the processing so I called my friend that obviously has a stronger gut. The worst part was that I had to hold her legs while my friend processed.
Anyway, I had come across @ManueB's thread about her hen Caramel, that from what I believe died of peronitis as well. So when I saw that burst yolk ALL over her insides, I knew.
She had a LOT of water inside her, and those burst yolks. Little to no feed in her crop.

What'd she have in there? Dried crushed purple corn? Blueberry leaves?
In my defense, Maybe I spend a little too much time with my animals, and I do have my head in the clouds sometimes, (But I am a pilot with an airplane so...) and maybe I do tell some off colored jokes at times. and maybe I have some sleep deprivation trouble, But a "crackhead" I am not!![]()
Prayers for you, grandma and your family Rebecca.I am going to try for some pictures later today. I have sorta been absent from the computer yesterday and today. The last 2 days have been pure you know what. Grandma has reverted back to how she was right after the stroke and shouting at everyone or crying. I am so thankful for the horses and the chickens right now because if this keeps up I will literally loose my mind very soon.
