Two enemies meet up in a rare moment on Big Rooster's lap. Notice the look on Abigail's face.
(Abigail is mean to Agathae at roosting time)
My cousins hen Blanche had bumblefoot when she first came here, I just soaked it and put some spray on it, and gave them lower roosts. It resolved pretty fast once she was on soft ground and wasn’t jumping down from big heights. I keep a 5 to 6” layer of softwood shavings in the Hen House.Thank you for the advice.
I hope your mare gets better.
Is Meloxicam OK if she has an ulcer? Best check with the vet - could aggravate the ulcer.Truly seems to be doing well this morning, she is turned out in the rain hopefully that will wash the poopy stains off. I am going to call the Vet and see about putting her on cimitadine for a couple weeks. And need to figure out the dose for Meloxicam (it’s 0.6mg/kg - she is 410kg, I have 15mg tablets for myself so need to figure out how many tablets to give her - @bgmathteach ??).
I tried turning the mama and chicks loose with the otjers this morning but Dorothy started causing issues with them - she blockaded them in the Hen House - evil beast. So I left the mamas in the hen house. I stand by my observation that the three Tweens were easier to integrate than these broodies…. Maybe I am just paranoid because the silkie chicks aren’t mine and I worry about them.
Ok well I better get going, need to clean stalls and floors, throw down hay, blacksmith coming at 11ish to trim horses hooves, need to fix up a place for the Tweens in the Hen House - the 1 Hatchlings are finally coming home this afternoon.
They're taking lessons and they don't need tap shoes when their claws do the work. That’s awesomethey look like they are tap dancing
Anyway hello and good morning! Hope everything is going ok l for you otherwise.
That tea is just how I like itGood Coffee Wednesday all
